If you've bought a Huawei E5573s modem you'll need to set up your brand new modem. If you follow the steps below to activate your modem you shouldn't have any problems - so please follow these carefully and be in touch if you've got any problems.
1. Go to OVO.com.au/Getstarted
Go to OVO.com.au/Getstarted to activate your SIM card - you'll need to sign in and then follow the steps to activate your SIM card
We'll send you an email to let you know that your service is active - it's important that you wait patiently for this before doing anything else.
2. Insert your OVO SIM card into your modem
3. Plug your modem in
Plug your modem into the power and wait for the power lights to come on.
If you see a red light it means you'll need to set up the APN (Access Point Network) - you'll find out how to do that in a mo.
4. Now connect your devices to WiFi
On the modems back cover you'll see the important details you'll need to log into your modem.
To connect your computers WiFi to the device search for the WiFi name Optus-4G-E5573-8130. Search for this on the bottom of the modem using your PCs WiFi search.
When you connect to WiFi from your device you'll be asked for a password. You can find this on the bottom of the modem too. In this case: WIFI KEY = 1370e9fr
Now you should be connected to the modem. Follow the instructions below to log onto the modems portal
5. Open a new browser window
Open a browser window and type in the IP address shown on the bottom of the modem, in this case it is 192.168.8.1.
6. Choose Settings
Now click in Settings. You'll be prompted for a user name and password. You can also find these on the bottom of the modem, in this case user name= admin and Password = admin
7. Create a new profile
You're going to add a new profile by setting the profile name to OVO and the APN to yesinternet.
Once done, choose Save, then Next, then Next again. Lastly choose Finish.
You'll get a message letting you know you've successfully set up your profile- it will say 'Success'
All done! You should now be connected to the internet! If not, power off the modem, wait a few minutes and power it back on again.
That's all - you're done!
